The Anchor of My Life

Whenever I am too lazy to write a blog post (which I always am) or just take privately the things that are happening to my life (and write them on my notebook journal of gratefulness, instead), I spend some quiet time re-reading on some of my previous posts, and reflect on how situations have changed…for the better.  It’s amazing at how at most times that we plan every single bit of detail for our lives, even up to the single centavo that we would allocate or budget to certain wants or needs, but then there will be situations that will happen that will either break or make us – and everything just changes.

I saw a Facebook post of one of my friends earlier that said,
If material things are what you refer to when you say I AM BLESSED, then you have no idea what a blessing is!”

Since I have started to become a financial advocate and enhance my knowledge on financial literacy, I have been reading posts on basic finances and how to properly prepare for future needs. Somehow along those anxiety, fear, excitement and joy of either disrupting the finances or achieving financial goals, we have mislooked the present situation and should have been grateful instead of what we currently have that simply never really take much money to bring us joy and much gratitude for life.

Top 7 Mutual Fund Companies in the Philippines

I am glad that financial literacy has been widely provided to Filipinos nowadays - as compared decades ago, when financial information are only restricted to companies.

Today, let me talk about mutual funds (MF), which is another form of paper asset investing.  The most common MF products are the equity funds and balanced funds.

Always Have a Grateful Heart – Be Thankful _(“,)/

I miss writing – but I don’t know why I am recently out of words. All I wanted was to let pictures speak for themselves.

SONY DSC

I took this photo last 23 June 2012, when I attended
the boys’ stag party outdoor adventure. =)

Over the last couple of weeks, I have so much to be thankful for our Lord. I always have been a person with a thankful & happy heart – I say thank you when I eat food.  =) I smile at the sight and touch of sunrise.  I would have a “joyful teardrop” with a hug from a friend.  I laugh hard at the simplest of thing that is “laughable”.  I giggle with joy to hear a touching and successful love story.  I would cry with gratefulness seeing people helping each other (like the Facebook group I am into who is helping out streetkids and making a boat for the kids in northern part of Negros so these kids can get to their school to study).  I am amazed and awed at the beauty of nature – especially with the changing colors of the horizon during sunset.  I would run to the seashore and let the waves come run after me. =D

I Realised: I Am Not a Saver

Last night, I was looking at Rich Dad Poor Dad cashflow quadrant and I wonder where I am at this current stage in my life (char!).  I think I am all over the quadrants (hahaha!), except for the S quadrant (I've never been self-employed), with the chunk of my cashflow coming from being in the E quadrant.

Day 3: A photo taken over 10 years ago of you

Just got back tonight at my hotel room after chillin’ out with some of the Filipinos here at the state where I am currently on audit fieldwork.  Being with them and speaking Tagalog make home just a few distance away. (Dear Friday, please come soon. I want to fly back to my own roooom!) ^_^

For my 3rd day of my 30-day blog challenge, my non-digital over a decade ago pictures are all back home in the Philippines (I’m thinking of putting in our picture during our senior graduation ball, because it was taken exactly 10 years ago, but I can’t find them.)  I just scanned through the album of one of my high school friends and grab our picture during our graduation day, when we were sweet sixteen. :)

Towards Being an Entrepreneur

Recently, I have been joyfully re-discovering the history of the passion I got towards being an entrepreneur.  To whoever I get to talk to, I speak about business and investments.  (Sometimes, I wonder if I bore my friend who only wants to speak about her new crush at the office whenever I shift the topic towards getting into business). =p

Anyway, here is the list I come up with regarding how my “being a business-minded person” history started:
  • At age of 8, I was asked by my mother to tend to our super-mini kiosk outside our canteen because there was a big praise and worship weekend encounter nearby.  I would sell the candies, the junk foods, softdrinks, ice water, etc.. to every passers-by (no cigarettes, of course).

It’s More Fun in the Philippines!

On the day that I created this personal site, Lyn-Lyn’s: Living the Life, I also created another blogsite to record the wonderful amazing places in the Philippines.  The low fares offered by our domestic airlines have made it possible for every Juan to explore our beloved country’s tourist destinations.  Check out my Philippine travel website at: iHeartPilipinas.blogspot.com

See you there! Angel

Keep learning and keep moving forward!

Cheers,

Philippines Rank 3rd as the World’s Most Preferred Markets: My Mutual Fund Portfolio

Manila BulletinA week ago, I read an article in the Manila Bulletin stating a very good news about the response of the world’s global fund managers about our beloved country.  Next to China and Malaysia, the Philippines rank third as the world’s most preferred markets of the global fund managers.  With the current economic crisis in Eurozone and increasing debt of United States, the focus of the investors have turned over to Asia.  And this amazes me that Philippines is soaring high and being preferred by the investors! Whooaw! \m/

So, what does this mean for us Filipinos?

Let me share with you my braincell-analysis as an effect of this positive market scenario:

  • Increase in investors means business opportunities in the country
  • More business opportunities = more jobs for Filipinos
  • More jobs for Filipinos = Additional income for the family
  • Additional income for the family = Happy! [because this means we have something to buy food for our table and increase our savings for investments]
