Year 2011: The Growth of New Beginnings

At midnight of 1st of January 2011, I took my very FIRST international flight. My heart was full of excitement and enthusiasm for the next adventure waiting for me in this foreign land.  At this time of new beginnings and the very first day of the year, I travelled back in time zone and witnessed how continents celebrated the new year.  I was even expecting to see some fireworks outside my plane window! =P But nah.. *wishful thinking*

New Beginnings
I was wide awake during the whole time of travel as I witnessed the changes in the colors of the sky, the rising and setting of the sun, the green mountains from Philippines to the brown dessert of Middle East, up to the ice on top of the mountains of the Northern countries above the equator, until I reached the tall buildings and trains in London.

The Travel 2011

..and whoaaa! As soon as I get out of the Queen’s airport, enthusiastic as a kid to finally set my foot on a land, I felt THE cold! I feel like I was walking inside a refrigerator! I even literally, ran back inside the arrival area when the first blow of the freezing cold wind smack my face!  I never want to go out of the airport and experience the cold again :P

My first day of the year 2011 was my longest - having an extra 8 hours.  I was exhausted from the long travel, but it was all worth it.
Thumbs up Growth in All Aspects
I summarize this year with one word: GROWTH
Spiritually.
Family & Relationshiply
Mentally.
Financially.
and Physically. (waaah, It's hard for me to accept this!)  Smile with tongue out

Spiritual Growth
I grew deeper in my faith as I learned to have a total surrender and full trust in Him.  Each
The Filipino Choir 2011morning, I have a session with the Great Guy above.

 I laughed with Him.
 I
cried with Him.
I rejoiced together with Him and
 let Him
know how awed I am for His awesome creations!

This year, I was able to serve Him as a choir member at 6pm Sunday mass.  I also get to know Him better through every Wednesday homegroup/Bible study session we have.  Through blogs and online communities, such as Kerygma, I found my spiritual support group and was able to give, receive and share God’s word and marvelous deeds.

Love of Family and Personal Relationships
"Distance is not a hindrance,”  they say.  Unfortunately, it just did not work for me.  I need my emotional doze to recharge my empty life’s batteries from my family and friends (old and new).  Thank God for technologies! I realized the value of “mere presence” and greatly appreciated every listening ear, every hug and every word of advice.  These are all priceless! ^__^

Mental Growth Nerd smile
Dreams. Abundant Pinoy..also known as: CRAZINESS. Hahaha!  Just kiddin’.  Year 2011 provided me with opportunities where I greatly learned more about financial markets, since this is my field of study.  It gave me practical applications of theories that I only studied in school and technical terms that I just encounter only and until our final day of our board exam.  I never thought that the theories are *really* present in the *real* world. Whoooa! Also, I have learned how to handle my emotions, and decide when my emotions subside, then let my brain takes over. (Char!)

Otherwise known as: maturity! _(“,)/

I also discovered new skills I have, like I can cook (duh), sing again, be a motivator, laugh loud (as always), ideas of online income, writing and setting new dreams and taking actions to achieve them.

Financial Education & Wealth Mindset
This was the main objective of the blog to our readers, who also include me.  Writing about financial education for us Filipinos encourage me to also take charge of my own finances.  From monthly savings to setting my financial targets to courageously face investing in stock market, the journey towards financial freedom and that dream to share the same experience and bless people humbly taught me the real essence of earning: to give more, to bless more.

Physical Growth
Oh well… :P

Cheers. Thank you 2011To YOU, my dearest friend, I am soooo grateful that I was able to know you through this blog.  Thank you for making me part of your life.  Let us give praise to the Great Guy above for the experiences, good or bad, that 2011 has offered us.  These experiences are all part of molding and preparing us to become the person that God meant us to be.

Keep learning and keep moving forward!

Cheers,
